Summary/Objective
Abode’s HEAR Program Specialist will operate within our Energize CT team to lead efforts related to the IRA funded residential decarbonization initiatives in Connecticut. For much of the first year, this new role will focus primarily on conducting outreach within specific contractor networks to enroll and train contractors to provide HEAR incentives through Energize CT. After the program ramps up, the role will focus not only on ongoing contractor recruitment and support but also on delivery of existing Energize CT offerings like virtual decarbonization consultations and Heat Pump Installer Network (HPIN) management. This is an excellent opportunity for a pragmatic, logical person with strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain impactful energy efficiency program solutions, while contributing to technical program implementation with an established team.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Energize CT Program Manager and working closely with a small team, this position will include some or all the following responsibilities:
Work directly with utility partners to establish a training program for contractors
Recruit, enroll and track approved contractors for the HEAR program
Conduct ongoing outreach to contractor networks and enroll eligible partners
Implement onboarding and training for contractors
Provide ongoing support for participating contractors, including, but not limited to, the following:
Field questions and hold office hours
Rebate and program details
Software implementation
Technology updates
Industry collaboration
Create newsletters
Conduct contractor surveys
Support the Energize CT team with other projects and tasks as needed
Conduct virtual decarbonization consultations for residential customers
Pulling together relevant data and reporting regularly on program results
Qualifications
All candidates are required to bring the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree or at least 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Located in CT and readily able to travel regularly throughout the state as needed
Collaborative team player with a positive can-do attitude
Detail-oriented, possesses the ability to multitask; able to methodically keep track of many moving pieces
A self-starter, able to proactively manage competing demands and changing schedules to complete tasks in a timely and diligent manner.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated aptitude for learning and working with software such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce. Comfortable working across software programs as needed
Any or all the following skills and experience are highly desirable:
Experience working with/for trades businesses, especially weatherization and HVAC businesses
Construction or utility program implementation experience
Experience in making presentations, training, or coaching
Demonstrated passion for and interest in sustainability, building science, energy efficiency, or climate change
Previous experience working in a fast-paced office environment in a project management, relationships management or communications capacity.
Ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese to support customers and contractors whose native language is not English
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual compensation of $70K to $80K, depending on relevant skills and experience. The HEAR Program Specialist is able to work remotely, however regular travel to visit local contractor and distributor offices is required.
